New PLCopen representative office in China

On September 23, PLCopen and RIAMB (Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machinery Industry) in China celebrated their new partnership.

The cooperation with RIAMB aims to enhance the promotion of the IEC 61131-3 programming languages standard and the PLCopen technical specifications and guidelines in China. The new PLCopen China office in Beijing will provide guidance and technical support for Chinese enterprises to design, develop and use products that comply with IEC 61131-3 and the PLCopen technical specifications.

We are very excited to cooperate with RIAMB in promoting the development of industrial control standards, technologies and software & hardware products in China.

Kickoff meeting for Edition 2 of IEC 61131-10 (XML)

The Working Group 7 (Programmable control systems) of IEC TC65 SC65B will start a new project in November 2024 in order to update IEC 61131-10:2019 ED1 – Programmable Controllers – Part 10: PLC open XML exchange format. This update became necessary in order to reflect the improvements made in the 4th Edition of IEC 61131-3, which will be published early 2025.

The Kickoff meeting on November 15 will take place in Erlangen (Germany), hosted by Siemens AG, immediately after the SPS in Nuremberg. It will be both, online and offline. From November 12-14 the exhibition highlight of the automation industry, the SPS, will take place again in Nuremberg, Germany.
