Changes in PLCopen Board of Management
On June 27, PLCopen had a successful annual General Meeting in Gorinchem, The Netherlands.
Part of the meeting related to elections in the Board of Management. We are pleased to announce that:
Carsten Weber of Phoenix Contact Electronics was re-elected as member of the Board of Management and as Secretary, and
Dr. Efrossini Tsouchnika of Siemens was re-elected as member of the Board.
Manfred Werner of CODESYS informed PLCopen that he wished to step down as member and Treasurer of the Board of Management.
His colleague Dipl.-Inf. Dieter Hess was proposed and elected to replace him as member of the Board of Management and as Treasurer. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of the CODESYS Group. CODESYS is the most widely used implementation of the IEC 61131-3 standard on the market. Since founding the company in 1994 under the name 3S-Smart Software Solutions GmbH, Dieter Hess has accompanied the most important activities of PLCopen, e.g. PLCopen Motion Control and PLCopen Safety. He initiated the 3rd edition of IEC 61131-3 together with PLCopen within the DKE (German Commission for Electrotechnical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE). Given his long involvement with PLCopen, Dieter Hess looks forward to taking on the responsibility on the Board of Management.
PLCopen sincerely thanks Manfred Werner for all his work for the Board of Management and welcomes his successor, Dieter Hess. We look forward to our cooperation in the coming years.

Cooperation between PLCopen and RIAMB
PLCopen and the Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machinery Industry Co., Ltd (RIAMB) in China signed a cooperation agreement to set up a new PLCopen Representative Office in China.
The cooperation between the two parties aims to enhance the promotion of the IEC 61331-3 programming language standard and PLCopen technical specifications and guidelines in China. And to provide guidance and technical support for Chinese enterprises to design, develop and use products that comply with the IEC 61131-3 standard and PLCopen technical specifications and guidelines. PLCopen China will also promote the development of industrial control standards, technologies and software and hardware products in China. They also organize Chinese enterprises and research institutions to participate in the formulation of international PLC standards and PLCopen technical specifications and guidelines, thus reflecting China's perspective in the world.
To commemorate this partnership there will be formal signing ceremony in Beijing on Monday September 23rd where representatives of RIAMB, PLCopen, and PLCopen China will attend.
We are looking forward to this new cooperation and its future opportunities.

PLCopen Promotional Committee starts work group to design a new website
PLCopen has decided to build a new website on a different platform. This transition provides us with a good opportunity to re-evaluate and enhance its overall functionality and user experience.
To ensure we make the most of this opportunity, we are forming a dedicated Work Group. This group will be responsible for discussing and implementing improvements to our current website, considering both technical aspects and user experience enhancements.
We invite all PLCopen members who are interested to take part in this initiative. The working group is scheduled to commence in the next 6 weeks. The group will get together on a regular basis via web meetings. Given the time difference, we would prefer participants based in Europe.
If you are interested in participating, please reply to this email, or send an email to Roeland@PLCopen.org. We will then provide you with further details regarding the schedule and initial meeting agenda.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to contribute to the ‘new and improved’ PLCopen website. We look forward to working together to build a platform that enhances our community's online presence and engagement.
